We just got in some elegant metallic serving trays from a great company called Rock, Flower, Paper.
Their lacquered trays have become a staple item in our store over the years because not only are they handy for parties and for protecting your nice wood coffee table from sweaty cups and glasses, they also double as beautiful works of art with different designs and pictures of things like nautilus shells, the Buddha, orchids, ferns, birds, and starfish.
The newest collection of trays from Rock, Flower, Paper uses a metallic motif along with familiar natural designs of flowers, etc. The techniques used to make these specific trays dates back thousands of years in which Artisans first apply resin to the parts where the design will be followed by delicate sheets of gold or silver leaf. Once the resin has dried they brush off the surface of the leaf to remove it from where the resin wasn’t applied and voila, the design is revealed and now shimmers in gold or silver. Of course the last step is applying many coats of lacquer to give it a protective finish from liquid, heat, and alcohol!
These trays are so beautiful and they make such nice gifts for housewarming, weddings, or the upcoming holiday season! So, please stop by the next time you’re in the neighborhood and check out these lacquered serving trays from Rock, Flower, Paper while they’re still here. Aloha!
